Operating Principle
The SEMEK harvester operates on a mechanical ground pick-up principle for nuts in-shell:
- Equipped with three driven wheels with hydraulic drive
- Combined hydraulic–mechanical transmission
- High-power, water-cooled diesel engine.
Counter-rotating front brushes (working width 2.4–3.4 m, FACMA patent) fitted with rubber scrapers direct the nuts toward a central mechanical pick-up unit. Rotating paddles feed the product onto a conveyor, while soil is immediately separated by a screw-type separator.
The nuts then pass through a pre-cleaning system, ventilation, and a double rotary screen adjustable to nut size. A side air blower shifts nuts away from tree trunks into the adjacent row, speeding up the harvesting process.
After sorting, the product is automatically discharged into carts towed directly by the machine.
